POW#1 Problem solving: A farmer is taking her eggs to the market in her car, but she has a pothole, she remembers that when she puts her eggs in group of two, their was one left over. The same thing happened when she put them in groups of three, four, five, and six. When she grouped them into groups of seven she had complete groups. How many eggs did she have? Is there more than one possibility?
Process: I got started by listing the multiples of 7.I then began to cross off the even multiples of seven and began to divide the odd numbers by two, three, four, five, six, and seven. I got stuck in knowing when to stop. So I re read the problem and figured out that I my answer had to have a remainder of one .
Solution : I got 301 because I listed the multiples of seven and checked it with two, three, four, five, and six. I knew that when I divided the number by seven there would be no remainder left.
Evaluation: I felt that the POW was okay because i got stuck in some parts, but i was able to find a way to get an answer. This POW challenged me and made me think deeper. While doing this POW I learned that you have to try more than once to get an answer. I also learned how to take my time and work hard to figure out .

Problem stATEMENT : A farmer has five bales of hay. They were weighed in combinations of two. Bales one and two,one and three, one and four, one and five, two and three, two and four, two and five, three and four, three and five, and four and five.Without keeping track he found how much the bales weighted. The weights FOR THE BALE WERE 80,82,83,84,85,86,87,88,90,and 91. What is the weight of each bale ?
Process : At first i read the pow over and over again once i was done understanding. i started to write down all the combinations and the weight of the kilograms. At first i got really stuck so that is why i had to read over again the problem. i knew when to stop because i had all the weight of the bales.ONE THING THAT I DID THAT DID NOT WORK WAS ADDING ALL THE COMBINATIONS.
My Solution : My answer was bales 1 & 2=80,bales 1&3=82, bales 1 & 4 =83, bales 1 & 5 =86, bales 2 & 3 =84 , bales 2 & 4 =85 ,bales 2 & 5 =88 ,bales 3 & 4 =87 , bales 3 & 5 = 90,and bales 4 & 5 =91. i know my answer is correct because all the combinations had a correct kilogram weight.
Evaluation : how i felt about this problem was hard at first , but then when i asked jocelyn for help during lunch time i was able to ask her how i can start off which was one of the problems i had starting off. then when she was explaining it more i was able to figure out the next steps of the problem. after that i was able to understand how to find each weight of the bale.

Problem Statement: Andrew want his boat to sail along an even keel. The boat has been divided into the middle and on each deck the animals on the left have been exactly balanced the ones on the right all but the third dec. We need to figure how many seals are needed. So that the six zebra balance.
Process: The first thing I did was I gave each animal a number and then I added the total amount from one side. Then to next side I gave them a number that would add up to the same number as the other side. After that I continued giving them a number that would add up to the same amount. When I got to the row where we needed more seals I gave each seal a number which was ten then I added them up and it gave me 60 because on the animal next to it had sixty so then i added and it gave me one hundred twenty which was right because on the other side I had one hundred twenty. So what I got for my answer was six.
Solution: For my solution I was able to discuss with my friends about the POW so they had different answers but once I got to explain them they had realized their mistakes. Also at first I got another answer but once I looked over my work and asked my sister for help she was able to explain it better. So I think that my right answer is 6
Evaluation: At first I thought the problem was going to be hard so then I got home and looked over it with my sister, but once she was able to explain it to me i thought it wasn't that difficult. The only part I had trouble with was starting the problem like I had no idea what number to start off with and that would give me the exact the same amount as the other side for it to be balanced.
